iPhone 4G Rumors

I have heard many rumors about an iPhone 4G coming out, and they are true, however, some people's imaginations got the best of them (ahem.. up there), but this post is to set those crazy pictures straight. A few days ago, in Vietnam, a working prototype of the iPhone 4G was found at a cafe. Here is the video link to that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SndV3_nEvlk . However, I still have my doubts. I don't speak Vietnamese, but the iPhone looks like it's running some sort of Self-Destruct software. If any of you do, please e-mail me, or leave a translation in the comments. But that is not why I'm doubting it is real. I doubt it is real, because days later, he found an iPod touch with a camera. A little too much of a coincidence, don't you think? However, Gizmodo payed 100,000$ to get a very similar prototype of the iPhone 4G and here is the video to that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7NyefQrZDA&feature=related , so it's probably real. Anyway, be patient! Jailbreaking video coming soon!

Blackra1n Jailbreak in Plain English (iPhone and iPod touch 3.00

In case you decide you want to (for some reason) use blackra1n as your jailbreaking method, this is what you do: First, go to http://blackra1n.com/ and click on the system you are using (the apple for mac, the flag for windows). If you want to go to geohot's blog, just click on his portrait. After it's finished downloading, connect your iPod or iPhone, and hit "Make it Ra1n" on the screen. Let it do it's thing, and eventually, a picture of geohot will come up and a popup asking you for donations. After that, sync your iPhone again, and you're done! Again, I recommend you use Spirit for your method. Further Guidance: You will find an icon named blackra1n. I recommend you install all of the packages listed. After you have done that, you may delete the installation program if you wish, or leave it there just in case. More guidance coming in future posts.

Spirit Jailbreak in Plain English (iPhone, iPod touch and iPad) 3.1.3

In order to jailbreak your ipod with spirit, first, go to http://spiritjb.com/ and click on the system you are using. if you are using a mac, download the application, open it, and connect your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. Make sure your iPhone is not in "DVM" mode, which means the apps have to be visible. Close iTunes, and hit the "Jailbreak" button once the ipod is connected. Do not interrupt the process, and let it do it's thing (by the way, it is extremely important that you sync your iPod with iTunes before you do this). When it's done, you will get a homescreen (called springboard in jailbreak language) With all the factory apps plus Cydia. You can use Cydia to download "Stuff". After that, sync your ipod to get all your stuff back on your iPod. If you don't like it jailbroken, just restore it, sync, and it will be unjailbroken. That's it! Now, if you have a P.C., right-click on the spirit file, and make it run in Windows 95'. If you do not know how to do this, visit the website.

Choosing: Blackra1n or Spirit Jailbreak

I have jailbroken my iPod with blackra1n, and immediately restored it, for I was completely unimpressed. It turned extremely slow, and springboard kept on crashing and crashing, and respiring took way too long. I literally had to respire after every installation. It was terrible. The only advantage was that the installation also installed Rock, an alternative to Cydia, which is much faster, only it has terrible packages. It left me with a bunch of files on my hands, taking up too much space. Spirit, on the other hand is simple, clean, and perfect. Installed Cydia, and thats it! No stray files. I restored it again, so that I could make a video of Spirit in progress. Videos coming soon. Here is an image of my ipod pre-jailbreak.
